Funcom released the 25th issue of Clan Conan today and it details the new content that went live with the 1.06 update for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The update introduced a new raiding tier, the Guild Renown feature, the return of Thoth Amon, and much more. One of the primary attractions of Age of Conan is the "Real Combat" system, which provides more player interaction during combat than previously seen in online role-playing games. Players are able to direct the swings of their characters' weapons during combat to attack separate target zones and use the directional attacks to execute combos. Other features include massive siege PvP combat, player built cities and battle keeps, and mounted combat which also uses the "Real Combat" engine.
Players will engage in detailed quests known as 'Destiny Quests' which will unfold into long and detailed story arcs for the player. Popular Conan characters such as the dark sorcerer, Thoth Amon, will appear at times as part of the story. There will also be standard MMOG quests and sub-quests which will lend to the story and lore of Hyboria and a number of dungeons for players to enjoy, and raids to keep high end gamers happy. Characters will be able to evolve using the 'Feat System', which allows players to build up the skills of their character in one of the two detailed trees provided for each class and the on general category for each archetype.

The game is being developed for the PC and the Xbox 360 by Funcom, the creators of the science fiction MMORPG Anarchy Online and the critically-acclaimed adventure game The Longest Journey.

Funcom has also promised the graphic nature of Robert E. Howard's short stories will not be toned down for the game and that they expect Age of Conan to receive an ESRB rating of Mature due to its content.
Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is slated for release on March 28, 2008.
