Has the Asian crossover made it as far as it can in North America?
Post launch hype has dispersed and now players are looking at NCsoft's latest creation, Aion, and wondering if it has enough stamina to get through to the next "big thing" in game. With five months under its belt since the North American launch, take a look at one thought on how the game is doing now.
It is here that one of Aion's biggest problems comes into play. To us, it seems as though Aion is meant to be played more slowly than its North American competitor, World of Warcraft. Fans of Final Fantasy XI may remember the joys of slowly advancing through their levels, taking breaks to level their crafting, or participate in a crucial mission. In Aion, however, players aren't allowed to enjoy their leveling process and take their time, as they are constantly in competition with the opposition. There are very few "safe zones" in Aion once you hit level 25+, and while the developers intended for this to happen, it does create the mentality within players to get as strong as they can, as fast as they can.

They made game with not much content where you can reach lvl 50 in one month and not much end game to keep you around.
Best solution was to delay game release of about 5 months and add more content so it gives enough time for devs till they make new expansion so players dont get bored of waiting too long till something happens.
just compare for example content of lvls 1-50 from lotro with aion,lotro has like x3 more content then aion and while players reach 50 and finish all quest and insta...

A month only if you don't have a job, or you like mob grinding a lot. I managed to get to lvl 40 (still not at cap) after almost 3 months, and frankly i felt like i was smashing my head against a brick wall for most of it as it was all grind with a few quests of "worth" tossed in from time to time. Now i do feel that Aion actually had a lot more going for it then most modern MMO's in that it was very traditional with solid systems for all the things we expect from an MMO today like craftin...
