Mabinogi-news-Players-get-angry-at-Heroes-Frequent-Maintenance
According to the announcements issued on the game's official site, Mabinogi: Heroes has carried out server maintenance for 29 times since its official open beta starting 13 days ago, and the time spent on the maintenance has totaled 29 hours. During the maintenance, players frequently encountered errors in the in-game characters, mini-maps and item application etc., some even could not login for up to 15 times.
To receive players' understanding and forgiveness toward the server maintenance, Korean game producers, who've conducted open beta for their products recently, have brought forth the so-called "Honeymoon Time". Mabinogi: Heroes has also adopted "Honeymoon Time", but still caused players' strong dissatisfaction. The reason is that time-restricted non-free items have been sold in Mabinogi: Heroes though Nexon treats the open beta as "Grand Opening".

What annoys players is that time-restricted non-free items are sold with frequent server maintenance conducted.
On Jan. 9 before the "Grand Opening", Mabinogi: Heroes opened its Beauty Shop to the players in net cafes and those buying Premier Packages, and started to sell time-restricted non-free items used to customize in-game characters. Such item includes the character's underdress and hairstyle. And the prices of the items able to be used for 30 days range from1,900 to 3,900 Won。
Mabinogi (Korean: 마비노기) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by South Korean Game Distributing Company Nexon, and developed by devCAT studio, one of several development teams in Nexon Inc. The Welsh word mabinogi is found in the original manuscripts of the Mabinogion.
The game engine features hand-painted textures stylized with edge detection outlining. The game world is developed continuously, through the release of important patches (referred to as "Generations" and "Seasons") that introduce new areas, additional features such as pets and new skills, and advancement of the storyline. The user interface is simple and designed in the likeness of Microsoft Windows' task bar.
Mabinogi was built on a hybrid Value Added Services model (which varies slightly for each game localization) that allows free play and the subscription of paid packages, purchased through the game shop. In South Korea, beginning with the Chapter 3 patch, Mabinogi changed to micro-transactions. It now allows 24-hour free play and the Item Shop only offers items, and subscriptions for added options.
The game service is currently available in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland China, North America and most recently New Zealand and Australia. There are plans to launch the game in Europe in early 2010, and the Mabinogi teaser website for Europe was launched on 18 November 2009.
The North American closed beta test began on January 30, 2008, at 2pm PST. The pre-open beta only available to Fileplanet users was released on March 5, 2008. The full open beta was released on March 6, 2008, at 3PM PST. The North American localization of Mabinogi was officially released on March 27, 2008.
